HydraFacial: A Skincare Revolution for All Skin Tones and Types

Cleanse, hydrate and correct with a cutting-edge treatment that relaxes as it rejuvenates. At Choosi Skin Face & Laser Spa in Cincinnati, we’re proud to offer HydraFacial, an advanced facial that uses patented technology to help you achieve and maintain a healthy glow.

Let’s Talk Facials

The skincare universe is constantly evolving. New treatments, products, and promises are introduced every day. One constant is the facial.

Facials do so much more than beautify your skin. They can help reduce puffiness, address acne and reduce the visible signs of aging by stimulating collagen production and cell turnover.

However, sometimes, a more thorough approach is needed to address specific concerns, such as pigmentation issues, enlarged pores and dullness. Enter HydraFacial, an advanced medical-grade facial that goes above and beyond to rejuvenate your skin with zero downtime.

What Is HydraFacial?

HydraFacial involves a simple yet powerful three-step treatment process to deeply cleanse, hydrate and nourish your skin. It can be performed in office and takes only 30 minutes to complete, making it perfect for a “lunchtime glow up.”

During treatment, a gentle peel and patented Vortex Fusion technology are used to cleanse and exfoliate the skin, removing impurities like dirt, oil and makeup. Next, painless vacuum suction clears the pores, ensuring that your skin is prepped and ready for the last step of treatment — an infusion of nourishing serums and moisturizers designed to quench, hydrate and protect.

Here’s a closer look at what the treatment process entails:

  • Cleansing & Resurfacing: A wand-like device gently deploys a gentle peel and Vortex Fusion technology to cleanse and exfoliate, eliminating impurities and revealing a fresh layer of skin. This step also allows for deeper saturation of select treatment serums.
  • Extraction: The wand’s gentle suction removes dirt, debris, and congestion from the pores, perfect for oily or acne-prone skin.
  • Hydration: This is where the magic happens. Your skin specialist will infuse the skin with customized serums and intense moisturizers designed to target your specific concerns, instantly refreshing your appearance.

HydraFacial is highly customizable and can transform dull, dehydrated skin in just one treatment session, helping you achieve a healthy glow. Your initial results will last for five to seven days, but you can expect to enjoy an improved appearance overall for at least four to six weeks.

HydraFacial Offers Versatility & Instant Results

HydraFacial can be tailored to your skin’s immediate needs and address a variety of concerns, including acne, aging, dullness, laxity, clogged pores, oily skin, hyperpigmentation and more.

Want skin tightening? HydraFacial does that, too. Infusions of peptide serums can help firm the appearance of your skin. Many clients also find HydraFacial to be effective for reducing the appearance of redness and rosacea.

Your skin goals can be accomplished in as little as 30 minutes. Following treatment, there are very few (if any) side effects and no downtime.

HydraFacial Is Perfect for All Skin Tones & Types

Your provider will determine the best serums for your complexion. At Choosi, you can expect your skin care specialist to be educated in and sensitive to the unique needs of melanated skin.

Darker skin may be prone to hyperpigmentation and uneven texture. Deeper skin tones also tend to have a thicker epidermis and superior moisture retention, often leading to a more hydrated and youthful appearance with less obvious fine lines and wrinkles. However, acne impacts both lighter and darker skin.

At Choosi Skin, our professionals in Southern Ohio are highly knowledgeable and skilled in caring for all skin tones. They have the experience to provide optimal outcomes for your skincare services, giving you the confidence that you’re in good hands.

Is HydraFacial Right For You?

Almost everyone can benefit from HydraFacial. However, if you have been taking Accutane, please wait at least six months following your treatment, as it can increase the sensitivity of your skin and lead to irritation or other side effects. You also shouldn’t undergo HydraFacial if you are allergic to any other ingredients it uses or experiencing an active flare-up of acne or rosacea.

How Does a HydraFacial Compare to Other Facials?

  • Traditional Facials: HydraFacial offers big bonuses compared to traditional facials, including deeper cleansing and no need for painful manual extractions.
  • Microdermabrasion: A popular choice for skin resurfacing. It works by “sanding down” the outer layer of your skin, while HydraFacial uses a gentle peel and Vortex Fusion technology to slough off dead skin cells.
  • Chemical peels: Peels range from superficial to deep. They are a great way to improve your complexion, but may not be suitable for all skin types. Sensations may vary from slight tingling to a burning feeling. Peels may leave the skin red and irritated and cause shedding. HydraFacials accomplish many of the same goals with less irritation.

Can HydraFacial Be Performed Together With Other Skin Care Services?

Yes! That is the beauty of this gentle yet effective treatment. At Choosi Skin, conveniently located within 30 minutes of downtown Dayton and Cincinnati, we frequently combine HydraFacial with other rejuvenating procedures to help our clients achieve their goals.

One of our most popular combinations is HydraFacial and laser resurfacing — lasers help target deeper concerns like fine lines, wrinkles or sun damage, while HydraFacial provides your skin with the nourishment and hydration it needs to heal between treatments.

HydraFacial can also be used alongside dermal fillers or neurotoxins to help you achieve more comprehensive results. Our experienced team can assess your concerns and develop a personalized treatment plan and schedule designed to bring out the best in your skin.

HydraFacial Add-Ons & Packages

At our Ohio-based medspa, we offer a variety of HydraFacial packages and add-ons to address your exact concerns, from fine lines and wrinkles to acne and dark circles beneath the eyes.

Some of our deluxe add-ons include a detoxifying lymphatic drainage massage to reduce excess fluids and LED light therapy designed to stimulate collagen and elastin production.

We can also tailor your HydraFacial to address specific areas. Our Perk Eye treatment delivers anti-aging benefits to brighten, firm and tone beneath the eyes, while our Perk Lip treatment enhances the texture, volume and hydration of the lips to help you achieve a fuller pout.

How Often Should HydraFacial Be Repeated?

If you want to keep that glow on, this invigorating treatment should be repeated every four to six weeks and supplemented with a great at-home skincare routine. Remember that your skin’s health impacts its overall appearance! Our signature HydraFacial helps keep all your specific concerns in check so you can maintain that great feeling of an instantly gratifying glow.

HydraFacials are considered safe for most skin types. While redness and some tightening may occur on rare occasions, these generally resolve in a day or two. This reassurance makes you feel comfortable and confident in the treatment’s safety and effectiveness.

How to Prep for Your HydraFacial

HydraFacial involves little to no preparation. However, we do recommend avoiding tanning beds, excessive sun exposure, waxing or shaving and retinoids for at least 24 hours before your appointment for the best results. Come relaxed and ready to pamper your skin!

What About the Sun? Are HydraFacials OK in the Summer?

Protecting your skin with SPF in the summer and winter is always a great idea. Burns and sun rays can and do age the skin. Having a HydraFacial in the summer is fine.

Post-HydraFacial Care

There is no downtime following a HydraFacial, and you can resume normal activities immediately. But here are some quick do’s and don’ts:

  • Don’t pick at your skin following treatment.
  • Do be friendly to your skin and avoid harsh cleansers and toners.
  • Don’t forget sunscreen.
  • Do avoid direct exposure to the sun without a hat.
